troo Signs Partnership Agreement with Globalstar Mexico
December 14, 2009, Ottawa, Canada: Real-time asset
tracking firm troo Corporation announced today
that the company has signed a 2-year partnership agreement with
Globalstar's Independent Gateway Operator (IGO) Globalstar de
Mexico to supply it with web-hosted fleet tracking software
service, trootrack™, to be rebranded as part of
Globalstar de Mexico's FollowU™ service.
troo's service will allow all Globalstar de
Mexico devices to be monitored and managed by users and operators
alike, through a single web browser
interface, anywhere in the world. The supported devices
include the new multi-mode Hybrid Track Tech wireless device, or
HTT, capable of providing GPS-based asset tracking location
coordinates and alert monitoring information from virtually
anywhere through the integration of Cellular and Globalstar's
Satellite System. The HTT launched earlier this year at the Mobile
Satellite Users Association (MSUA) and Satellite 2009 Conference
and Tradeshow in Washington, DC.
New call centre functionality will allow Globalstar de Mexico to
monitor their customers' fleets and offer unparalleled real-time
support should an event occur, such as vehicle breakdown or
theft.
"We are excited about this new partnership", says
troo's President & CEO Phil Wyatt.
"Globalstar is the world's largest provider of mobile satellite
voice and data services to businesses, governments and
individuals. Signing on with Globalstar de Mexico is
confirmation that our service offering can operate with any
satellite, cellular or hybrid device in the market and provide the
types of information required to make informed decisions."
"We've seen tremendous growth with our FollowU service in
Mexico", says Eduardo Pacheco, CEO of Globalstar de Mexico.
"The trootrack™ platform will enhance that service
and provide the means and tools required in the Mexican market for
users and operators alike, to view and communicate with their fleet
quickly and easily, achieving a better logistic process in their
business".
The agreement also allows any Globalstar IGO partner to sign
independently with troo and yet benefit from the
accumulated volume of business of the entire Globalstar
consortium.
