Phil Wyatt – President
As President of Waypoint, Phil provides overall leadership and direction for the Company, with a strong focus on Product Development. Phil previously co-founded Northwood Technologies and was Vice-President, Technology and CTO. In addition to providing the product vision, he guided the activities of a growing team of research scientists, software developers and engineers from 1991 until the acquisition of Northwood by Marconi in 2001. After moving to Marconi Phil took on the role of VP Technology for the Wireless Network Planning Business Unit. Prior to 1991, he was a business consultant for international mining companies, as well as a government physical scientist, and pioneered new methods in spatial data analysis and visualization using digital mapping technology. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Carleton University and a Master of Science degree from the University of Colorado.
Larry Woods – Chief Operating Officer
Larry manages the day-to-day operations of Waypoint. He has 25 years of business management, information technology and strategic planning experience with global communications companies. He built his career with Mitel Corporation and Newbridge Networks Corporation, where he held senior roles in product management, product marketing, project management and information systems. As Chief Operating Officer at Northwood Technologies, he was instrumental in the sale of Northwood to Marconi for $42 Million cash in 2001. As an Executive Vice President at Marconi, he lead the successful integration of Northwood into Marconi, and managed a $65 Million global strategic business unit with up to 220 employees. He also worked as Vice President Commercial Development at Iogen Corporation, where he played a key role in managing strategic partner relationships. A registered Professional Engineer of Ontario, Mr. Woods has an MBA from Harvard Business School and an Engineering Physics degree from Queen's University.
Patrick Fitzgerald – Vice President, Sales
Pat leads Waypoint's sales activities, including direct sales to end user customers, and sales through distributors, resellers and systems integrators. Pat has 17 years experience in worldwide sales and sales management, with a demonstrated track record of success in both large corporate organizations and in small start-up sales teams. In the role of VP, Global Sales for the Marconi Wireless Network Planning unit, Pat lead the integration, development, and management of a global sales team of 30. As a Regional VP for Marconi, he played a key sales management role, including management of profitability based on budget projections, maintaining active sales plans and pipelines, implementing and managing measurable goals at division and individual levels, participation of the division business plan, and management of employee development.
Between 1994 and 2001 at Northwood Technologies, Pat established and built the company's global reseller and distribution channels and built a strong team of experienced direct sales professionals. Prior to joining Northwood, Pat held sales and sales management positions in a variety of consumer and technology sectors. Pat holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Bishops University .
Perry Casson – Vice President, Research and Development
Perry is the architect and developer of the company's core GIS technology. Perry plans and implements the tools, technology and processes used by the R&D team. He is currently focused on the design, development and implementation of large scale, high availability GIS/Web applications. Previously, Perry was co-founder and Director of Software Development with Northwood Technologies, an Ottawa (Canada) based software company that developed Vertical Mapper, a MapInfo companion raster GIS system, and Decibel Planner, a sophisticated, GIS-based, wireless network design software package. After Northwood was acquired by Marconi in 2001, Perry continued his role until 2003. With a formal education in electronics engineering and two decades' software development experience, Perry's expertise is in software architecture, systems engineering and development tools.
